Since we launched the Erotics of Sound website, we’ve had 1,066  views – or rather, listens.  Many are referred from the Decadence Now! Erotics of Sound facebook page, which has over 600 regular users, some from searches of the term “Decadence Now!” and a few from the Galerie Rudolfinum page.

Alice Calm from Lyon is here for the weekend. She gave two performance / talks about her process in working with the idea of decadence and erotics in found texts and sounds.  Tonight, she will be in attendance (with Andrea) at the airing of her piece in the Kino Aero!

The airings at Aero Cinema are really interesting as the venue is so unique and the audience is the general public. On the first evening, there were moments when there was such stillness and attentiveness in the listening audience, that to say you could hear a pin drop is redundant. It’s powerful.

The inaugural  “Black Cloud” ritual program authored by Marie Fulkova of Charles University took place at the Rudolfinum this Friday. The participants are being trained to help teachers in local schools teach the educational syllabus, where high school students will create their own rituals for observing the Decadence Now! exhibition. They will choose and incorporate Erotics of Sound audio art pieces into thier rituals. We’ll be tracking a few of these groups as a study (we hope).
